4 imagesAs last light falls on Uluru, this deep corner of the Rock on the "Mala Walk" begins an unbelievable glowing event. I realise these pictures look unbelievable but they are hardly touched from the RAW files. I have a photo I snapped of my son here in which he too is radiating red from the phenomenon. This is where I always go now to experience the sunset. As nice as the viewing area from the road is it is packed and lacks intimacey. Here, I have always been alone or with family. It is the perfect place at the perfect time. Laying on my back and letting this incredible happening wash over me.

4 images"Spirit of the Ghost Gum" is an ongoing project. I have used reflection in the dark waters of various water-holes in Central Australia, to highlight the presence and character these beautiful white-barked trees have throughout the ranges.

15 imagesOn Oct 14 2010, all the conditions came together and I happened to be there to witness one of the Natural wonders of the World- Uluru Rain. I have visited Uluru and Kata-Tjuta many times over the last 4 years since moving to Alice Springs and I have seen it wet before, but never like this. Torrential rain fell overnight and continued in the early hours the next day. I drove through a foot(30cm) of water flowing over the road in the dark of pre-dawn on the way to the Rock. It was 90 minutes later that the cloud lifted and enough light found its way through to see the waterfalls streaming down the flanks. The rain eased enough to set up my tripod on the roof rack of the Toyota and thankfully I had grabbed an umbrella from reception. It was a juggle and I was cursing myself for getting new suspension as the winds buffeted the vehicle making the photography an even greater challenge. I knew that once the rain eased the waterfalls would dissappear quickly as the rock -holes on top ceased to overflow, so it was now or never. In these images I hope to have captured some of the spirit of this amazing place during a rarely seen phenomenon. Words cannot describe how I felt as witness to the vision and orchestra of Uluru rain. One of the finest hours of my life. Most of these images are taken during a 30 minute window from 7am when conditions eased enough to enable a decent shot. Many of the Pictures have been and continue to be featured in Newspapers, Magazines and Web Publications all over the world. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy the images.
