Central Australian Desert Football

Yuendumu Community Football Oval. Once a year communities from all over Central Australia gather to compete at the Yuendumu Sports Weekend. Australian Rules is the game of choice and is fiercely competitive. Football in Central Australia is closely watched by scouts from the AFL National League and has produced many stars of the game.
For those individuals, the last being Liam Jarrah from Yuendumu, to go from living in a small desert community and have to move to a capital city and play in front of thousands must be an incredible experience. The few who make it become Idols, those that don't still can become local stars.
