• An evergrowing series of images of a personal "Project by Opportunity", called Landscapes of a Joyride.
Travelling around Central Australia we are confronted by car body after car body, in all states of decay.
I began seeing links between the landscape they were in and the patterns of rust and paint that covers the wrecks.
This extended into aerial views of the country wher some of the images are amazingly similar in terms of pattern and texture.
Then to take it a step further, i see linkages between this series, the aerials and some Aboriginal art.
My dream is a collaboration between a first nation artist and myself which will pull all this together.

 • Uluru and Kata-Tjuta are Australian icons. With ancient history they are of special significance to the Anangu traditional owners of the area.
Known for its' ever changing colour, depending on the time of day, and weather, Uluru is a wonder of the natural world. As is the many domed Kata-Tjuta. Lying 50km apart makes this a special place. Te desert country from which they rise is sublimely beautiful in itself. Over my time in central Australia I will continue to return to spend time with and capture some of the moods of these amazing Rocks.

 • Yuendumu Community Football Oval. Once a year communities from all over Central Australia gather to compete at the Yuendumu Sports Weekend. Australian Rules is the game of choice and is fiercely competitive. Football in Central Australia is closely watched by scouts from the AFL National League and has produced many stars of the game.
For those individuals, the last being Liam Jarrah from Yuendumu, to go from living in a small desert community and have to move to a capital city and play in front of thousands must be an incredible experience. The few who make it become Idols, those that don't still can become local stars.
